Declining cycle times during the coating process today require faster hardening times, which can be optimally implemented with the help of UV drying systems. Rehm Thermal Systems is responding to this trend by developing the new RDS UV, a compact dryer, especially for hardening UV coatings and UV adhesives. UV coatings are solvent-free, and therefore particularly easy to process and environmentally friendly. They are increasingly used as corrosion protection for electronic components in the automotive industry. They are also used in the cosmetics and household appliance industries, and also for musical instruments. With the RDS UV, Rehm provides a flexible and reliable dryer that makes the hardening process for UV coatings fast straightforward to carry out in just a few seconds. Thanks to the exhaust air volume flow which can be adjusted and the short heating phase, the system is immediately ready for use and is therefore significantly more efficient than comparable systems in terms of energy use. With the implementation of higher coating thicknesses, you can achieve the maximum protective function of your circuit board coating and profit from the best quality.

Mercury medium pressure lamps

The RDS UV is fitted with undoped mercury medium pressure lamps as standard. The performance of these lamps is 120 W/cm and they have a service life of over 8000 hours. The distance to the transport level can be adjusted from 50 mm to 100 mm.

UV LED fields

Depending on the type of adhesives which is used, UV LED fields with an integrated air cooling system can also be used. The service life of the UV LED fields is 20,000 hours on average (10,000 hours are guaranteed by the manufacturer). Thanks to the cold light source, the LED fields are primarily also suitable for lighting sensitive materials.

Transport

The RDS UV is fitted with a pin chain conveyor as standard. Regardless of the geometry of the circuit board, the transport system can be optimally adjusted to your assembly. The transport tracks and speed can be adjusted flexibly.

Easy maintenance

Our RDS UV is very accessible with low maintenance costs. The system casing and the dryer doors can be opened. All electronic and mechanical components on the reverse side of the system have a clear construction and are easy to maintain.

The Visu operating software of the RDS UV dryer has an intuitive touch interface, which considerably reduces configuration and operator training costs. All the relevant parameters are visible at a glance on the main screen with its machine view. Using corresponding tools you can document the drying process by product and integrate this into your traceability programme. Extensive documentation can be retrieved in just a few clicks. It also offers password-protected administration with several levels, language selection, data display and maintenance logs.
