On 30.01.2023, the ceremonial signing of the educational partnership with the secondary school in Laichingen took place. Headmaster Johannes Tress recommended to the 8th grade pupils present on this occasion: "Entering professional life is a big step, so take advantage of the insight into a company that an educational partnership gives you. Through internships you can find out what interests you, what doesn't and where your strengths lie."
Joachim Erhard, HR Manager at Rehm, added: "Every experience you gain in an internship is a good one. Even if you realise later that this is not the right profession for you. Take advantage of this opportunity and inform yourself about as many apprenticeship occupations and further training opportunities as possible. Lifelong learning is simply a part of life today." Mr. Erhard speaks from experience, he himself has had many different jobs in the course of his career; he has completed four vocational training and further education courses to date.
Sylvia Geppert from the Ulm Chamber of Industry and Commerce also motivated the pupils to take up the companies' offer. The pupils are not only supported in finding a profession, but also in the application process. So-called applicant trainings take place in the schools, in which numerous forms of assistance are offered, from the preparation of application documents to tips for the first job interview.
With its 580 pupils, the Anne-Frank-Realschule in Laichingen is well positioned. Headmaster Johannes Tress gave a good insight into the school's equipment and emphasised: "We cannot complain. In contrast to some other schools, we are very well equipped and can therefore offer our pupils exciting and interesting lessons." This is particularly evident in the area of technology. The Realschule Laichingen has several technology rooms where craftsmanship is in demand. From wood to metal construction work and electronics kits, there is plenty of variety. A special feature is the 3D printer and the possibility to use a CNC milling machine. Programming skills can thus be taught in a practical way.
As a producer of thermal systems for the electronics industry, Rehm Thermal Systems has also agreed to support the equipment of the technical rooms.
